The North Central Ohio Educational Service Center is offering Ohio’s paraprofessional online examination several times throughout the year. This examination measures skills and knowledge in reading, mathematics, and writing, as well as the ability to apply those skills and knowledge to assist in classroom instruction. Individuals should contact their school for district employment requirements for educational aides and paraprofessionals working in Title I programs.
Identification Requirements
The examination is limited to 2.5 hours, but test takers should plan for 3 hours to include pre-examination preparation. You must preregister and pay (nonrefundable) at least one week in advance. Payment can be made by money order, purchase order from school or credit card.

The Day of the Examination
Confidentiality Agreement. Each test take must read and sign a Confidentiality Agreement the day of the examination.
Scratch Paper. Each test taker will be provided a pencil and one 8 1/2 x 11 inch scatch paper. If test takers have completely filled both sides of the scratch paper before the test is completed, you will be provided an additional piece of scratch paper.
Breaks. There are no scheduled breaks during the examination.
Retakes. A test taker must wait 21 days before retaking the examination.
Prohibited Items. While taking a test, examinees should have nothing on their desks but their scratch paper, photo identification and pencils. The use of any of the following items in the testing room is strictly prohibited:
Telephones, cell phones, smart phones (e.g., BlackBerry® or iPhone® devices, etc.), PDAs or other electronic, recording, listening, or photographic devices are not permitted in the test center. Possession of or use of any of these devices will result in immediate dismissal from the test center, forfeiture of test fees, and cancellation of test scores.
